Jonathan and I work for the same company. Starting just 1 month apart and not knowing one another till over a year later even though we worked within just feet of one another. Even after seeing one another, vaguely introducing ourselves to one another still nothing. Then one day...we became friends.

Jonathan and I were friends before having a relationship was ever any type of discussion. I wasn't ready, he wasn't available. So friends is what we were, friends was all we could handle. For 3 months we talked, laughed, we hung out, we shared our painful moments, and our healing moments. We took our time.

In light of my new friendship, I wanted to do something nice for my friend for his birthday. Listening to his "war" stories, I felt he deserved to be appreciated so I put together a nice birthday dinner with family, his mom and dad and his daughters. I took him to Razzoo's. We had a great time.

We went back to his place, he walked me to my car, he hugged me and thanked me for a wonderful birthday dinner, he took me by the hand and asked me to be his lady. That was October 13, 2023.
